Crash and burn!

So we have had an eventful few weeks.
It all started with Whitney having a
hard time breathing. I took her down
to the office and we gave her 2 shots
of epinephrine and 2 breathing treatments.
She was still having a hard time breathing.
So after consulting with the Dr. he said that
the safest place for Whitney would be in the
hospital. But we could take her home and watch
her to see how she did for awhile and if she
got any worse then he would do a direct admit.
Which at 1:00am is exactly what happened next.
We went to the hospital and did a direct admit
and there she stayed overnight. When he was
getting ready to send her home her 0xygen level
was 86% (should be in the 90's). But after
some deep breathing he decided to let her go
home. The next day, she still felt tight in her chest
and like she couldn't get enough air in her lungs.
I took her back to the Dr. and her oxygen level
was in the low 80's. So he put her on some more
medications and ordered home oxygen and
decided at that point that we could do just as
much at home as they could in the hospital.
So, 2 weeks later she is still on oxygen and having
a hard time mostly at night getting enough air into
her lungs. I can only imagine the horrible and scary
feeling you must have to feel like you can't breathe, or
are suffocating!
Then last night we get a call from her boyfriends Dad
telling me that Travis and Whitney have been in a
car accident. The ambulance had taken Whitney to the
hospital and Travis was talking to the deputy on duty.
So we rush to the hospital and immediately found her
in a room on a backboard and her head and neck
braced so she couldn't move in either direction.
They did x-rays and a head CT. No broken bones
or stitches, and her CT is normal except she
has a concussion which is normal after an accident.
The Dr. said that it may take a few days, to weeks or longer
for her memory to come back. And some of it may never.
But they released her and she is home, so we are very
THANKFUL that her and Travis are OK. It could have been
a lot worse we have been told by police and others at the scene
of the accident. It was kind of sad that she couldn't remember us,
but slowly things are starting to come back and we had family
and her friends over today to help her remember. Keep her
in your prayers and we will keep you all posted. Love to all!

Goodall family reunion 2009

Our trek down Center Street.
We all woke up early on Friday morning
and Mom took us on a little walk....it
ended up being about 4 miles!
But we all had a great time! Ryan did
end up walking back to Tyeanna's house
because Calvin was so upset, he was so tired!
Poor little guy:( But the rest of us had a
wonderful time learning all we could
about Mom & Dad Goodall and where
they lived after they were married, we saw
the house that Tod was born in,
and many other very interesting stories.
Then at the end we topped it off and
went to the Blue Bird Inn and
we all sat at the bar and ate or drank
root beer floats:) They were so yummy
after such a long walk...Thanks Mom!

Prayers ARE answered!

Left to right: Ron Ekins, Shirley Ekins, Kathie Ekins,
Dad, Me (behind me Joe Goodall), Terrie Card, Doug Card,

What a special blessing this is in our lives!
Dad, after 80 years has decided he wants
to go through the temple and he wants to
do his own temple work while he is on
this earth, he doesn't want someone
else to do it for him.
He started going to church a few months ago
and has been prompted by the spirit.
He was ordained a priest on Sunday,
June 7, 2009. We were all present and
it was the first time as a family we have all
sat together in Sacrament and witnessed our
father partake of the sacrament.
I know that Heavenly Father hears and
answers our prayers, not always in the
time frame we hope and wish for, but in His
own time. I have prayed for my Father for
10+ years that he might have the desire to
have the gospel in his life, that his heart may
be softened. So I know that my prayers have been
heard and answered and I am so Thankful to a loving
Heavenly Father who knows us and the desires of
our hearts. I am grateful this day for my Dad, husband and family.

Hairspray?

I need a good holding hairspray.....I have tried several
store brands...yuck!! And I have tried some called
finishing sprays, and others that sounded like
they might hold for more than a minute,
but to no avail. Nothing seems to work.
So if anyone reading this knows of an
excellent hairspray that will keep the
hold, I would be so appreciative of any
ideas you may have. I think I have tried
practically all of the cheaper brands
with no luck. I might have to move on
up to the higher quality brands...any suggestions??????

Mother's Day!

I had the best Mother's day ever! It is amazing how you feel when you
are surrounded by your loving husband, children and grandchildren.
I had lots of nice gifts, and Joe made me breakfast and dinner:)
He was so daunting all day and it was so nice
as a mom to just sit back and not have to worry about
anything. He just did it for me-Thanks honey!
It was so wonderful to have my children & grandchildren
here to spend the day with me also. They bring sunshine into my life.
It was just a wonderful day. We ended it by putting flowers on my
Mom and grandma's grave and visiting with Joe's mother. We
all had a great time. We went to church and usually I come
out feeling like such a failure, but our ward did it a little different than we
had heard before. They had the men talk. They talked a little about their wives
and their mothers and mother-in-law's, but the best one was when this brother
got up and told a little story about his son and wife and that he loved his wife, but
he also said he didn't want his whole talk to just focus on her, but he wanted to
include all the mother's...he went on to say that he knew how we as mom's go out
feeling like we are so inadequate, and how we are NOT inadequate, and this
is Satan making us feel this way, he prides himself in making us feel terrible
as mothers and it works because we all at some point feel that way. I was so touched to hear
that, when I expected to walk away like every Mother's day feeling like such
a failure, but his talk made me remember who I am and Satan does try to
make us feel less about ourselves. It was so nice to hear that we as mothers
ARE ADEQUATE! We just need to be reminded once in awhile and what better day
to remember that than on Mother's day. We usually end up beating ourselves up about
being less or comparing ourselves to others. I am so THANKFUL to a loving
Heavenly Father who loves each one of us...he knows each of us and knows
that we as mothers are ADEQUATE...so this is a reminder to all you mom's to remember
you are the best mother in the world! I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's day!

$5.99 a case!!!

So I went to the store on Monday to buy a case of strawberries.
The sale started on Friday and I was suppose to go after
work, but I didn't. So on Monday I went thinking that they
would all be gone, and when I walked in the store they had
rows and rows of them stacked taller than I am (I know that
isn't saying a whole lot since I am only 4' 11"), but still you
get the idea. So I ended up buying 2 cases and would have
bought more but I just don't have the freezer room.
Anywho I had a fairly early day at work and got started on
canning strawberry freezer jam, it took me 3 hours to
do 2 cases and I ended up with 26 pints. WOW!!!
I still didn't have that much room in my freezer, so we
shared and took some to Grandma Goodall, my sister,
my aunt and one of my dear sweet friends who lives
just a few blocks from us. She loves it:) So that is good.
And yes Kami I still have enough to send home with you too
when you come down this week. Jeni wanted to learn but
didn't get off work till 6pm and I was all done by then.
Oh well there will always be a next time.

KANYON MAKING COOKIES

Jeni decided to make cookies and wanted Kanyon
to help her. He loved it, and didn't want Jeni to
be in the picture with him, when she tried to
get in the picture he would tell her "NO" and
push her away. Kaden got in there and him and
Kanyon had their hands all floury and loved
to show off for the camera. They all had a fun
time!

My new scrapbook room...all done!

Well, here it is finally....all done!
I thought I had more pics of when we
had the floor tore out down to the dirt
and you could see the crawl space.
I'm sure I have them on a disk somewhere.
I used a warm spice for the walls, and
all the closet doors, trim, ceiling and door
are done in high gloss white. And the
carpet is called Golden Rod or something
like that. It is a short shag, dark brown with
green and burgandy specs in it. It is so nice to
finally be able to walk on the floor without shoes
and not be afraid of stepping on nails or something.
Now I am just trying to put it all together, going through
some things and putting it all away nice and neat on the
wonderful shelves that Curtis built=)
Thanks Curtis, I love them!Posted by Picasa

Tribute to Mom(s)

It was my Mom's birthday on March 15, 2009...
she would have been 73 years old. Boy does
the time fly by. She was 67 years old when
she left this mortal world to a more
beautiful and peaceful place without any pain.
My Sister and I come here quite often.
Although most days are hard...it helps to
come here.
So I just wanted to post this tribute to Mother's
everywhere. Remember to tell your Mother you
Love her, to spend time with her even
when you feel you are too busy and life is
getting in the way...find the time. Do things
for her, call her on the phone, be with her and cherish her
everyday of your lives. Because you never know
when the day will come and she will be gone.
Remember to love your Mother(s).
The little things you do now she will cherish
in her heart forever.

Happy Birthday Joe!!

Happy birthday to Joe!!! We celebrated his birthday and took
him to a new steakhouse in Nephi.....of all places, called
Salt Creek Steak house. Joe decided to live it up and order
crab legs....he does this about once a year....orders crab legs and
has a birthday..lol! Anyway, the plate was so full of crab legs and butter,
but mostly because our friend decided she couldn't eat all of
hers so she kept piling hers on Joe's plate for him to eat. I
took a picture of it...I will try to post it later, it is the funniest
thing and piled so high it makes your mouth
water. We love you honey, Happy Birthday!

COMPUTERS AND LIFE!

I haven't posted anything for awhile because we are still having
issues with our comp....uggh!! It is so frustrating!!! So I haven't
been able to post any pictures at all. I'm not sure what is going to
happen with it, except that I may have to find a window for it.

Kami, Curtis, Kanyon & Kaleb came down this weekend and had
a sleepover.....it was fun! We haven't seen them for a few weeks
because they have all been sick, but doing much better now.
One day I will be able to post again, so stay tuned!

WHEW......

I think I have found all or most of my pictures:)
Just before my computer crashed it was
acting funny and I thought or maybe it was inspiration:)
that I needed to backup my pictures. It was suppose to take
7 Dvd's and I had only got to disk 5 before it died.

But luckily after looking through them today I think
I was able to find them all:) Kami will be excited,
I also found the ones from Kaleb's birth!!
Jeni had put some of my pictures on her computer
but she didn't put my Christmas pics on hers,
but I was able to find those on the disk also!! I
am so excited and feel so blessed that I was able to
back up my pictures at a very crucial time!

The only thing I have run into that I can't seem
to retrieve is any movies that I had recorded of
the kids. For some reason they just seem to be
damaged or the computer can't read them:( But
everything else is intact, and I learned a very
valuable lesson......backup, backup, backup or get
a hard drive that does it for you:0

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

Joe took me on a date for valentines!
We had so much fun just the two of us.
He picked the dinner and I picked the movie.
Joe LOVES Wingers and that is where
he wanted to go eat. We didn't even
have to wait, we got right in and sat down.
He always knows just what he wants to eat.
But for me it takes me awhile to decide. I guess
I try to find new things to try and then talk myself
out of it. I always get big meals and I am never
able to finish them-my eyes are bigger than my stomach!

So we were at the mall thinking we could just eat
and dash upstairs to see a movie, but by the time
we got upstairs the movie had already started. We
drove to Orem and around Provo but couldn't find the
movie I had picked out. We ended up driving to Spanish Fork.
We decided to see "Inkheart". Just for those wanting to see
it....you would probably do good to wait until it comes out on
video. It was OK, slow and predictable. Not terrible, I just
wouldn't pay money to see it again. But we had a good time just
spending time together:) Dates are so needed!

CRASHED!

So our computer CRASHED and we haven't been
able to post pictures because we were using Joe's
laptop. There were some I wanted to post but it
will now have to wait...by the time we got someone
to come and fix it all my thousands of pictures
were GONE!!!!
So I have been extremely sad over that, I in the meantime
am trying to figure out if I have anything left and
will keep you posted on the progress or lack of.
Hopefully I was able to save at least some of them
before it crashed, if not I guess I learned a
valuable lesson.

We went and visited her after she delivered.
He will be 3 in July!

Kaden's birthday dinner at Outback Steakhouse

Kaden originally wanted to go to Tucano's for his birthday but they had a 2 hour wait and we were really hungry, so he decided to go to Outback Steakhouse..always a personal favorite of mine. Kyler figured that if Kaden got to go with him for his birthday dinner then he was going to go on Kaden's birthday. So Jo started to take some pictures and Kyler for some reason decided to hide behind me..crazy kid! We always invite our very best friends with us for birthday dinners and they are kind enough to come and enjoy it with us. So Kyler orders a steak and Kaden orders if you can believe it.....a hamburger:) But he said it was wonderful and wasn't really sure why he didn't go for the steak..oh well maybe next time. We all had a great time!

Happy 15th birthday Kaden!

Posted by Picasa
This week we had Kaden's 15th birthday...he is getting so old and is seriously thinking about driving...soon!! It makes me sad (in a way) as a mom to think that after Kaden gets his drivers license I will only have one more child who will be able to get his drivers license. I always get a little stressed and scared when it comes time for them to get behind the wheel. For the most part all of our kids have been pretty good drivers so I can't complain too much, but it is always scary at first. Kaden wanted some batman legos but for some odd reason they didn't sell them in Utah, so he got $ and a gun cleaning kit instead. He was excited and I think it was a little unexpected but he is happy and can't wait to learn how to clean his gun and has a few willing brothers to teach him. So Happy Birthday to you Kaden, we love you!

KANYON LOVES TO PLAY HIDE-N-SEEK

Kanyon loves to come to our house and play hide-n-seek in the blinds and plants. He is so funny he will come over and grab your hand and pull you to where he wants you to go, then he will make you stand in one spot while he goes and hides behind the plants or behind the blinds. He does this all while you are watching him and he thinks he has outsmarted you...so whoever is playing will just play along and in the end we are all enthralled by his squeal of delight that he has been found!Posted by Picasa

Quilting

Kyler watched his sister work on a couple of quilts and he wanted to make his own quilt, he was so excited! We went to the store and he picked out the material, took it up to the lady and told her how much he needed so she could cut the material and then paid for the material all by himself. I got home from work and he was putting the quilt on the quilt frames, and he was doing a pretty good job of it too. I helped him finish and showed him a couple of stitches to try so he could start to tie his quilt. It took him a few days and he had it done. We then made a short trip to Santaquin to Grandma Goodall's, he wanted to see if she would bind it for him. We walked in the kitchen and her and Grandpa were sitting at the table, Kyler took out his quilt and showed it to them while his Dad proceeded to tell them the story of his quilt. I looked at Grandpa and he had tears in his eyes...and it didn't take long for Mom to have the same effect (people crying does that to Mom's you know). So Grandma was excited and said she would be happy to bind it for him. A few days later we went and picked it up. He has been smiles ever since. We are so PROUD of him!

Tuesday, January 20, 2009

I talked to Auntie DaLayn about starting a blog...we will see. She feels very confused about the whole thing, but I told her I would help her and if she didn't want to post a pic of her, just post of the kids and their achievements and what is going on in their lives. So, no definite yes or no answer, but I will keep working on it. If nothing else we could get it set up and teach the kids how to blog:) Then we could all stay posted together!! Love to all!

Happy Valentines day from Grandma & Poppa

Happy Valentines day came a little early for Kanyon & Kaleb...Grandma got too excited to wait!!
Kanyon got the red and white shirt he is wearing, it says...That's it I'm telling Grandpa, and he got the big red and white puppy in this picture. Kaleb got a smaller version of the same dog and the outfit he is wearing that says...Who loves ya? Me! They came down on Friday and stayed overnight. We had a wonderful time. We went to dinner with some good friends of ours and took Kami & Curtis with us and the kids stayed home and babysat and ate pizza. We had fun:) Curtis worked way too hard though! But we appreciate all he does for us, he is such a gogetter! We love him!
